Pastor Appreciation
DID YOU KNOW:
Too many preachers hear “Good sermon, Pastor” at the door after a church service. While it sounds flattering, that isn’t what we want to hear. The congregation is not there to judge a performance, like on American Idol or Dancing with the Stars.
The best compliment you could give your pastor would be something like, “I am going to obey God’s word by…” If you want to honor your pastor, don’t let him go first through the potluck food line or give him a plaque or a favored parking spot. Instead, take God’s word to heart and respond to it with trust and obedience. And, anyway, how could it be a good sermon if nothing changes in peoples’ lives?
Senior Pastor, Rev Jerry Foote

We want people who are more interested in following Jesus than attending a church service. Following Jesus means learning to have the thoughts, values, and goals that Jesus had. It results in us becoming like Jesus.
We have church services, but they are not ends in themselves. We prepare our services to be experiences and tools that help people take their next steps in following Jesus.
Our journey is not a competitive race, but a cooperative climb where we lend each other a hand through encouragement, prayer, and mutual ministry.

The purpose of our Care and Visitation Ministry at Mulford Church is to extend the love and compassion of our Lord Jesus Christ in times of sickness, crisis, loneliness, grief and loss, separation, frailty or isolation. Care is not confined to these areas, but extends to every ministry in Mulford Church.
Areas of care include Communion to the Sick, Anointing of the sick, Visitation in hospitals, nursing homes and residences, Bereavement, Ministry to the aging, Family Care (meals, transportation, etc.), and Prayer Chain Support. Individual pastoral counseling for personal or family issues, physical or emotional health challenges, or other difficulties is always available.

What is worship? Who is worship for? How do we worship? These are questions that I have explored in my life over the last several years.
I grew up in church singing songs about Jesus not understanding what worship was. Now I want to encourage people of all ages to worship God with their entire life.
I am looking forward to exploring new avenues of worship and celebrating our Lord with you all at our worship services.
Finish Well,
Nic
