We Grow By Serving

If you are new to Mulford Church, you might be starting to realize that we believe every follower of Jesus who attends regularly needs to be part of the ministry of the church. We are participants and workers, not just spectators. God has given us gifts and talents. We want to match people up with acts of service that utilize these gifts. We can help you find a good place to use your time and energy for the Lord and for the church. So please consider in prayer if someone suggests an area of ministry to you. (It is ok to say “no” if that particular ministry doesn’t match with you.) We do a  lot of our recruiting through sign-up sheets and clipboards in the back of the church. Please take time before and after services to check out the ministry opportunities.

Prayer and Fasting for Mulford Church, November 2011 – October 2012:  Our goal is to enlist 31 volunteers to fast and pray one day a month.  This will cover the calendar and have continuous fasting and praying through the year.  Fasting and prayer is a level of seriousness that affirms our dependence on God and our humble [desperate] willingness to cry out to him.  In fasting, we choose to place our desire for God’s glory and empowering work as a higher priority than our natural appetites and routines.  (A printed guideline for fasting is available for those who want to study the topic in greater detail.) Please sign up for your day of the month on the clip board at church.

Benevolent Fund - As we celebrate communion, we receive a benevolent offering to provide help for those of our congregation that may be experiencing special need.  To give to this fund, simply take a special offering envelope out of the pew rack and write “Benevolent Fund” on it.  The Deacons will administer this fund on behalf of the church.
