Thank you for your willingness to consider serving as a house group leader. Our hope is to be able to gather the church together in individual homes, in groups fewer than 10, to worship together.
What we need from you...
1) You need access to youtube. We will be streaming the service live at 10:30 on Sunday mornings.
3) A willingness to facilitate. We are not asking you to teach, or lead worship, but to work through some scripture readings a prayer prompts. Again, the elders are here to help!
- If you have a smart TV, a Roku, Firestick, or similar device, many of these are preloaded with the YouTube app, you will only need to access the Mulford channel.
- If you have a Chromecast or similar device, or a HDMI cable, you should be able to stream YouTube from your laptop computer or iPad/iPhone.
- Brandon is available to help.
3) A willingness to facilitate. We are not asking you to teach, or lead worship, but to work through some scripture readings a prayer prompts. Again, the elders are here to help!
What this will look like (beginning on March 29th)....
- 10:15am: Open your home to 10 of your fellow Mulford brothers and sisters, or even visitors you might want to invite.
- 10:30am: Begin streaming the live worship service on YouTube. We will provide lyrics for the songs so people can sing along. Brandon will give a devotional on the attributes of God.
- 11:00am: Continue the service with those in your living room, kitchen, etc. This will include:
- Scripture Readings from the Old and New Testament
- Some brief discussion questions. (e.g., What did you learn about God from this mornings devotional, What has God been teaching you about in his word this week).
- Pray through the prayer guide. Take requests from your house church group and pray through some of the prompts provided for each week (e.g., praying for our government leaders, or missionaries, etc).
- 11:30am: (Optional) share a meal, pot-luck with your house group.
Some Guidelines...
- We do not want anyone coming who isn't comfortable, especially those who are in high risk categories.
- If someone is sick, they should stay at home. If you, as the leader, or anyone in your family is sick, you should cancel the weekly gathering.
- Make sure your home has been well sanitized before and after your meeting. Encourage hand washing, etc.
- People need to stay in the same house church, and not move from one group to the next. This reduces the risk of spreading the virus in the unlikely event someone is infected.
